Torcedores dos quatro grandes clubes do Rio são voluntários em uma pesquisa para entender como a paixão pelo futebol influencia a nossa vida. Neurocientistas da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) e do Instituto D’Or mapeiam a atividade cerebral para buscar como funciona a associação pelo time.

Na pesquisa, os voluntários precisam doar valores para si mesmos, para torcedores do mesmo clube e para de outras equipes, enquanto são examinados por uma máquina de ressonância magnética.

O pesquisador Tiago Soares Bortolini conta que, a princípio, esperava que as áreas do cérebro ativadas, ao enviar dinheiro para um torcedor com a mesma camisa, seriam as mesmas ao enviar para a família.

Os primeiros resultados, porém, mostraram que os torcedores ativam a mesma área do cérebro ao enviarem dinheiro para si mesmos e para aqueles que apoiam o mesmo clube. Para doar para os fãs de outros times, as áreas ativadas mudam. O próximo passo é entender por que uns são mais fanáticos que outros e como funciona a associação entre as pessoas.

– A gente não consegue ver por que uns são mais fanáticos ou não, mas é um primeiro passo para entender quais são as áereas por trás da cooperação entre indivíduos de um mesmo grupo – disse Tiago Bortolini.
